Beautiful People. Peace. Life. Love
I have been a photographer for some years now. Events and portraits involving Conde Nast Brides, British Vogue, rocknroll musicians, famous celebrities and unforgettable individuals. I have analysed many faces, seen different body shapes, met so many different characters, watched expressions change, the laughter, the tears, the fears and the flawless to the lines of journeys past and still to come.I can plan my photoshoots to a point, but one cannot ever entirely plan for what will happen when a person walks through that door, my lens settles upon them, the light falls upon their skin tone….‘click’. It is the learning of a person’s face or body that can be one of the most rewarding moments as a photographer. I see in them what I love about them, but to try and capture this is my challenge. To enable them to look at their very own image and say “Is that really me?” with a smile that speaks a thousand words. I then breath in a way that enables the life in my own being to grow. Women I find particularly need this moment of confidence in their lives. Do we ever feel good about ourselves? Rarely. Those who do are in a minority. It is our natural way to feel uncomfortable in our skin. To look at others and marvel at their figures unable to allow the compliments about ourselves to hold a resting place, for long.
I am blessed to be an auntie of two beautiful girls whom I adore within every piece of my heart and soul. Being a single girl I am yet to experience motherhood. However the tie I feel from my nieces is impossible to put into words because though they are not my children, they are very much a part of me. They are in me. I am in them. They hold the family faces, the genes from the ages past and present. We are all here together and must try our best to live this life to it’s highest capacity. It is our responsibility as a human being to strive for peace, love and understanding in all aspects in this world.
This wonderful being walked into my studio on Saturday. She is with child. In only 4 weeks time her baby will arrive. Dianna arrived infront of my lens for the second time. The first was when she was pregnant with her daughter Freya. Dianna was my muse for a very fulfilling fine art project I did “The Beauty & Curiosity of The Bump”. Images are on my website here: http://s77.4b3.myftpupload.com/fine-art.php
When an image is captured, it is a moment. The light, the lens, the look, the expression, the emotion. It is there, for all to see. A spirit that is shelled in it’s cocoon explodes from it’s hiding place and blooms into this spark for the world to lay eyes upon. When this happens, it is the driving force that reminds me that if it was not for my camera I simply would not be alive. I live my life through my lens. What would the world be without light? Light in life, in spirit, in soul. It is there and must be recognised always.
This girl has music, flow, beauty and outstanding Vogue quality that blows me away. As you can imagine it is the one time in a woman’s life where they do not feel particularly confident about their bodies, yet as we can all clearly see, it is one of the most stunning and natural times in their lives. Moments like these do not happen everyday. Her ‘Grace Jones’ stature inspires me. Her bravery and strength is contagious. Bless you darling, and bless your beautiful children. What a pleasure it was to photograph you. Thank you.
