In The Green Room ~ Tonic Music For Mental Health
Film created by Gem Rey for Tonic Music For Mental Health. Hear it like it is from the music industry and those around it. Jeff Horton speaks about the importance of having a charity that is targeted at the music industry. Jeff is owner of the famous London venue “The 100 Club”. The club was visited recently by Prince Charles & Camilla The Dutchess of Cornwall out of respect to save our industry venues. Wise words from Barry Ashworth & Seanie T ~ Dub Pistols. The talented actress Denise Black speaks out about why she loves what Tonic is about and what Tonic can do for you. Music journalist Ian Winwood talks about his life’s journey and how working in the music industry provided a freedom in which to run wild and how the support that now exists is so very important with what Tonic represents. Adam Ficek ~ Babyshambles & trained psychotherapist has certainly lived through the highs & lows of life as a successful artist in the media while trying to navigate the tectonics of fame & the need for a nurturing path. Adam is now working closely with Tonic on the peer support groups. Tonic provides a selection of classes & programs. These are FREE to music industry professionals. They’re pretty incredible and will give you confidence, knowledge & most importantly the backbone of a charity who is clearly on the right path & simply ‘gets it’. They even have their own ska choir.
Barry’s Flying Circus ~ Tonic Music For Mental Health
Barry Ashworth ~ Dub Pistols is patron for Tonic Music For Mental Health. Barry gathered a host of rock’n’rollers to take to the skies to do a wing walk and raise money for this excellent charity. An incredible achievement. Their target of £20,000.00 got well and truly smashed as they have gone beyond what they set out to do. Bez ~ Happy Mondays joined the circus too. Barry and Bez did barrel rolls and a loop the loop ! Seriously ! These guys are brave. It was incredible. Everyone who took part played their part.
I wanted to make this film to highlight how we can all reach out and help our friends. Suicide and mental health awareness is really crucial at any time. 2020 has been a challenging year and the music / events industry has been especially hit by the circumstances. I have now learned that the horse racing industry is also similar to the music world. If making this film saves one life, then it is worth it. I hope it makes you laugh too. Live your life. Look after each other. Life is to be lived. Here is the link to make a donation: https://localgiving.org/fundraising/B… Film ©
Rockumentary Review ~ William Orbit
Music Producer / Artist “William Orbit” visits “Classic & Custom Works” by Gem Rey This custom project was completed by Rob Smith for the owner of a Lambourghini Huracan who decided that he wanted to have scissor doors. Rob is only the second person in the UK to have achieved such a task. The unique supercar sold for a lot more than it was purchased for within just one hour of being placed for sale on Instagram.
